THE FIRST NON-MONOLITHIC OR “ASSEMBLED” NOZZLE WAS PROBABLY RELEASED BY  OLSSON FIRM : THE OLSSONRUBY NOZZLE.

THIS NOZZLE USES, AS TIP, A SYNTHETIC RUBY WITH AN EXTERNAL CONICAL SHAPE AND AN INTERNAL CYLINDRICAL HOLE THAT CROSSES THE ENTIRE CONE.

MAYBE THE ONLY DEFECTS OF THIS NOZZLE ARE THE LOW THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY OF THE ARTIFICIAL RUBY AND, MAYBE, THE IMPOSSIBILITY, AS WE WILL SEE FURTHER, TO GIVE IT A CORRECT “SHAPE”.

IN ANY CASE, HAVING THE LAST SECTION OF THE NOZZLE MADE OF A MONOLITHIC MATERIAL WITH A HIGH HARDNESS IS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT:

AT THE OUTLET, THE REPENTINE CHANGE OF SECTION, IN PARTICULAR FROM A DIAMETER OF 1.75 OR 2.85MM TO 0,2-0,3-0,4-0,5-0,6-0,8 ETC. MM , DETERMINES AN INCREASE IN SPEED AND, CONSEQUENTLY, ALSO IN THE TEMPERATURE, OF THE FLUID, IN PROPORTION TO THE RATIO OF THE AREAS CONSIDERED, THEREFORE VERY IMPORTANT.

IN THIS WAY THE DURATION OF MONOLITHIC NOZZLES MADE IN VARIOUS MATERIALS, INCLUDING SURFACE TREATMENTS, CANNOT CERTAINLY MEET THE NEEDS OF A PROBLEM-FREE PRINT.

REGARD TO SURFACE HARDENING TREATMENTS, I THINK IT IS AN “ENERGY” PROBLEM: THE DIFFERENT QUANTITY OF ENERGY CHARACTERISTIC OF A “COATING” COMPARED TO CHARACTERISTIC OF THE INTERCRYSTALLINE FORCES OF A MONOLITHIC MATERIAL

BEYOND A LIMITED DURATION, IT IS POSSIBLE TO HAVE CLOGGING EVENTS WICH ARE REALLY ANNOYING, AND NOT ONLY RELATED TO MATERIALS WITH ABRASIVE CHARGES.

EVEN THE TRANSFER FROM MATERIALS OF DIFFERENT NATURE CAN MAKE THE OPERATION CONDITIONS WORSE, AT LEAST, FORCE MACHINE STOPPED TO REPLACE DEDICATED NOZZLES.

ANOTHER EXAMPLE IS THE SWITCHING FROM DIFFERRENT TYPES OF MATERIALS, FOR EXAMPLE FROM ONE WITH AN HIGHER EXTRUSION TEMPERATURE, TO OTHERS WITH THE SAME LOWER: THE REPLACEMENT OF THE FILAMENT IS NOT ALWAYS GOOD.
